9-year-old at the wheel because couple was too drunk, police say

A Wisconsin mom and her boyfriend are facing felony charges for allowing her 9-year-old daughter to drive them home after allegedly being too drunk to drive.

Jason Roth and Amanda Eggert plead not guilty Friday to a number of felony charges including child neglect and second degree recklessly endangering safety according to Fox 9.

Authorities say they took a 911 complaint about erratic driving on rural Wisconsin roads. By the time law enforcement caught up to Eggert and Roth’s truck, it was rolling backwards towards a river at a public boat launch.

“At which time the deputy was able to jump into the vehicle and place it in park and secure the vehicle,” Capt. Steve Smith said.

Deptuy Jeff Hahn said he was stunned when discovered that the driver was only 9 years old. Also in the backseat of the pickup was an 11-month-old child.

Roth's preliminary breath test indicated a blood level alcohol level of .25, three times the legal limit in Wisconsin.

The children are in the care of a family member.

Bread seller photobombs a shoot, gets modeling contract

English singer and rapper Tinie Tempah was doing a photo shoot in Nigeria while visiting his parents' home country.

Tempah was photographed by Ty Bello, a Nigerian photographer and singer/songwriter.

BuzzFeed News reported that a local bread seller came into some of the shots.

The woman immediately caught Bello's eye and she enlisted the help of her Instagram followers to find out who she was.

Bello wanted to work with the woman to build a portfolio to get her a modeling contract.

Instagram followers who lived in the area told her to leave a message with people where the shoot was, and she eventually connected with the woman, whose name is Olajumoke Orisaguna.

Orisaguna told Bello that she was a hair stylist in Ire, in the Osun state of Nigeria. She moved from Ire to Lagos, Nigeria, to work at a distant relative's bakery to make more money to take care of her children.

The 27-year-old took 14-month-old daughter with her and left her husband and 5-year-old child in Ire.

"This lady belonged in front of my camera," Bello said. "After a conversation with her husband telling him the story of our meeting, I decided I was going to photograph her that very afternoon."

The shoot that followed ended up being for the Nigerian magazine "This Day Style" and included Orisaguna 14-month-old-daughter, Grace.

"She stepped in front of my camera and I almost couldn’t recognize her. She moved different too," Bello said. "Jumoke looked straight into my lens, emoting like she had done this all her life. I knew we had found a star."

By Monday, Orisaguna reportedly signed with Few Model Management, a modeling agency.

SC primaries will be held on separate days

South Carolina is one of the few states that will hold its Democratic and Republican primaries on separate days. The GOP primary is Feb. 20 while the Democratic primary is Feb. 27.

Dr. Karen Kedrowski, the dean of Winthrop University's College of Arts and Science and a political science professor, says it's up to the national parties to decide when primaries are held. That often involves some negotiation with the state parties and candidates themselves.

"There could be some issue about where the candidates wanted to be able to spend more of their time and how they wanted to invest in the states as far as campainging," she says.

But Kedrowsi says having primaries on separate days can be confusing.

"For the people who want to vote in the Democratic primary, they have to be reminded not to also show up on the 20th or they will be disenfranchised on the 27th,” he said.

Channel 9 found it's costing South Carolina taxpayers more money.

According to the South Carolina State Election Commission, it costs 25 percent to 30 percent more  to hold primaries on two separate days instead of one. The Chester County Board of Elections said it costs more than $18,000 to prepare and hire poll workers for both primaries. They say if the primaries were held on one day, that number would almost be cut in half.

Kedrowski did say there's at least one positive thing to the split days.  She says it extends the amount of time South Carolina influences the political debate.
